Main process for the production of medical face masks

Raw materials used are polypropylene polymers
Those polymers require a
– Special grade
– High Melt Flow Index (MFI)

The middle layer in a medical mask is made with a nonwoven meltblown process featuring electrostatic charging.

Protective masks such as FFP2 or FFP3 are made in a similar way, but composed
of 3 to 5 layers of nonwovens (made through a range of processes).
Production include thermo forming as the final products are 3 dimensional for optimal fit.
